About Olympique de Marseille (OM)

OM, or its full name of Olympique de Marseille, is a French football club from Provence. The history of this French football team began in August 1899, the year of its creation.

In 1932, the club entered the professional era. OM is identified by its logo composed of the intertwined letters O and M and a star. "Droit au but" [Straight to the Goal] is the motto of these Olympians, who usually wear white and blue shirts. Vincent Labrune is currently the Chairman of this Marseille club, which plays at the Vélodrome. Its coach is José Miguel González Martín del Campo, known as Michel. It has a modern training facility at the Robert Louis-Dreyfus Centre. Since its inception, many great players like Boyer, Papin and Scotti have played for the club. Currently, other names, such as Batshuayi, Mandanda or Barrada, are an addition to the long list of Olympians who ensure that an OM match at Stade de France is always an event not to be missed. This team, which currently plays in the first division, is the only French club to have won the Champions League. Also nicknamed the Phocéens (Phocaeans], OM's trophy cabinet includes ten French Cups, three League Cups and eleven French league championships.
